Turn your love of language into an exciting career. Spend two semesters in Paris, where you'll immerse yourself in French language and culture. Then complete your master's degree at NYU's Greenwich Village campus in New York City, where you'll study pedagogy and gain experience as a student teacher in public schools. Our unique, two-year master's degree program in teaching french as a foreign language leads to initial New York State teacher certification in teaching French as a foreign language (grades 7-12), and requires an undergraduate major or minor in French language or literature. The M.A. degree program in teaching French as a foreign language is a joint degree program offered by NYU in Paris; NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science's Department of French; and NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development's Department of Teaching and Learning. An undergraduate major or minor in French language or literature is required.
