The Programme Computer Science (Datamatician) was established in 1986 to meet demands from the business sector for improved theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of computer science. Since then it has been continuously developed and up-dated to meet the demands of the IT sector. The educational programme offers a wide range of competences in the field of IT. Core themes: Technology: Construction & Functioning of PC (including operative systems & communication between PCs); System Development: IT System-Designing & Describing Systems; Programming: Writing Programmes with the Use of Object-Oriented Java Programming Language programmes working in a multi-user environment and containing database access and updating, Web Technologies (programming for the Internet). Optional subjects: Embedded Programming (Programming of Robots), Agile Development. Methods of teaching & learning: Group-based thematic activities, interdisciplinary projects, external lecturers, study visits to enterprises, study tours, project work. Duration: 2 years 6 months (5 semesters). Level of degree: AP Degree (A short pragmatic programme aimed at a business career); Comparable to the first 5 semesters of a Bachelor Degree. Course structure: The course consists of 5 semesters; the last semester includes a final exam project. Individual planning: As a student you can streamline your career basis through the choice of electives, specialisation and final project. Assessment: Assessment is carried out via a combination of coursework assignments, and interdisciplinary examinations. A range of methods used includes problem solving exercises, formal reports (oral, written or posters) and special assignments. Language of the course: English. Career opportunities: After completion of the Computer Science programme you can continue your studies at university level. If you opt for the Aalborg University, it is possible to obtain a Bachelor Degree after studying for approximately 1 year there. But an AP Degree usually leads to an immediate business career. The graduate gets a job at a professional level in any of the following fields: System Administration, System Development, Computer Programming and Network Coordination. Application deadline: 1st October for the February enrolment and 1st of April for the September enrolment (later applications welcome, but no guarantee given). Starting dates: February 1st and September 1st. Payment deadline: 1st rate upon reception of the admission letter and 2nd rate when the visa is obtained, however no later than August 1st for September enrolment. Cost of compulsory literature: EUR 670 - (DKK 5 000) for the entire programme however, special service available for non EU/EEA students. ECTS points: 60 per year; 150 for the full programme. Accommodation cost: Approx. EUR 267- (DKK 2 000) per month at the student hostel.

- Tuition fee/Admission fee Nordic students: Free of charge; - EU/EEA students: Free of charge; - Other students: Tuition fee amounts to EUR 9 300,- (DKK 70000,-) per year, but NOEA has a very favourable "Special Service Package" for in-coming students non-EU/EEA students; - Tuition no-shows are charged EUR 267,- (DKK 2 000,-).

Entry requirements:
For Danish Students: an upper secondary education with at least level B in Mathematics.
For non-Danish students:
a) Students from Asia or Africa 2 years of university study completed;
b) Other appropriate education found to be acceptable at the discretion of the Academy.
Language proficiency IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0 or special interview at the Academy in Denmark.
