Description: A truly unique opportunity is available through American University's School of International Service. The American University/Ritsumeikan University Dual Undergraduate Degree Program (DUDP) is the only one of its kind between American and Japanese universities. Students spend two years in Washington, DC followed by two years in Kyoto, Japan while earning two Bachelor of Arts Degrees.

Students have advisors at each university to ensure that they complete the necessary requirements at both schools. This dynamic program will provide students with an exciting opportunity to continue their Japanese studies and gain a more in-depth understanding of Japanese culture than the average study abroad experience.

Japanese immersion- Students gain a first-hand experience learning Japanese culture and politics in their classes with native speakers.

Many study choices- Students may study in any of the following Departments: International Relations, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Policy Science, Social Sciences, Engineering. Science or Fine Arts.

Scholarship- All American University Dual Undergraduate Degree students are eligible for scholarships covering up to 30% of tuition while studying at Ritsumeikan. Students must maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. to keep the award for all semesters of study at Ritsumeikan.
