Description: Study for MA degree in the charming Polish city of Krakow! 2-year TransAtlantic Studies Program offers an interdisciplinary insight into US-European complex and ambiguous relations at one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe. The curriculum covers cultural, social, economic, political, international and strategic issues.

The Master of Art in TransAtlantic Studies (TAS) is one of Jagiellonian University's newest programs. It is a comprehensive, full-time interdisciplinary postgraduate Masters program. It is directed primarily to foreign students who would like to study in Krakow. It is taught entirely in English. The program focuses on the political and cultural aspects of TransAtlantic relations. The graduates from the program will receive a diploma in cultural studies with major in TransAtlantic studies.

During 4 semesters of studies the students are obliged to earn 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points.

The structure of the program is based on the following modules:
1) Compulsory Courses (10 ECTS each) each course comprises 45 hours of lectures and 30 hours of seminars
2) Optional Courses (4 ECTS each) each course comprises 30 hours of lectures or seminars
3) Research Methods in Cultural Studies (3 ECTS) 30 hours of seminars
4) MA Seminar (8 ECTS) 80 hours in two semesters
5) MA Thesis (20 ECTS)

   - TAS101 Social Change in the 20th Century: Globalization in the Atlantic Community

   - TAS102 Introduction to Cultural Studies
   - TAS103 Europe and the United States in the 20th Century
   - TAS104 Research Methods in Cultural Studies

Semester Three:

   - TAS105 European and American Literature
   - TAS106 Transatlantic Connections in Cinema

MA Thesis (of approximately 20,000 words)

    Jagiellonian University's Mission Statement: The Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the former capital of Poland, was established in 1364. It is one of the oldest academia in this part of the world. The University is named after the Jagiellonian dynasty, which ruled the country from the late 14th to the late 16th century. During this Golden Age, the Polish monarchs ruled over several other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
