MBA in International Business Management
Ireland
Description:
Through its portfolio of programmes in International Business Management, each of which provides a route to the award of an MBA, the Graduate Business School can offer students a contemporary management education and a truly international environment in which to study. The Graduate Business School offers a dynamic teaching environment characterised by a lecturing team with outstanding industry experience, and an educational setting that promotes and encourages the highest level of academic endeavour. Postgraduate Programmes in International Business Management The Postgraduate Certificate (Stage 1) requires completion of five modules focusing on the interdependence of different areas of business, and their strategic management in an international context. The Postgraduate Diploma (Stage 2) builds on the broad international business perspective and improved professional and practical skills, developed in Stage 1, by shifting the focus to a deep critical understanding of specialist business disciplines. The MSc stage of the programme (Stage 3) requires the completion of a Research Dissertation. The focus is on significantly enhancing students' investigative, analytical and reporting skills through applied research. The final stage (Stage 4), leading to the award of an MBA, focuses on analysis and the student's existing experience in the management environment. Through two management reports, students will demonstrate how they have applied their knowledge and skills, and how they continue to learn from their practical and professional experience on a daily basis. Their progress will be monitored against a management competency framework. The duration of this stage of the programme depends on a candidate's prior managerial experience.* *Duration of MBA stage: at least two years' experience at managerial level is required before students can be considered for the award of MBA (International Business). This experience can be acquired prior to, during, or subsequent to completing Stage 3 of the programme. Students who possess two or more years' management experience by the time they complete Stage 3 may submit their Stage 4 course-work within six months of Stage 3 completion or as otherwise advised by their Faculty Supervisor.
