Description: About the Course
This honours degree combines the disciplines of Business and Law. The many inter-relationships that exist between the two disciplines are explored and discussed to highlight the importance that each has on the other. By so doing, students will be well equipped to make informed choices relating to their subsequent careers.

This course prepares you for a legal position within a business, liaising with other departments that will be seeking legal advice on any number of issues. You can also pursue a role in a legal practice. Alternatively, if you choose to focus exclusively on a legal career you will continue in education to prepare for the traditional legal professions as a solicitor or barrister.

Today's dynamic business environment demands an in-depth knowledge and understanding of business disciplines and the law. The course content, developed and validated by NTU and Griffith College Dublin's Course Syllabus Committee, ensures that each module provides this comprehensive grounding in the Irish business and legal environment. With a lecturing panel that has been selected from specialist business and legal disciplines, students will enjoy teaching of the highest calibre that is both relevant and current. This will help you to succeed in any working environment you choose.

Progression
The degree enables graduates to sit the Law Society of Ireland's entrance examinations. Graduates may also choose to advance their studies and research skills at postgraduate level. Graduates are also automatically eligible to sit the Honorable Society of King's Inns' entrance examinations. Once you have successfully completed the five entrance examinations you may then complete the Honorable Society of King's Inns' Barrister at Law degree, in just one year. Graduates may also pursue further studies at postgraduate or masters level in a wide range of disciplines.

Careers
On completion of the course you can pursue a career in business by working closely with the departments of the organisation where you work, providing expert legal advice on marketing, personnel, production, etc. Marketing management opportunities may also arise in the financial services sector, particularly in the area of corporate legal advice. Alternatively, you can apply your general business and administrative skills to the management of a legal practice.
