Description: Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts began in 1987 to train people for careers in the exciting world of communication and multimedia design. We use our extensive industry knowledge to provide an educational environment that mirrors how design and advertising agencies operate.

Students come from Australia and all over the world to benefit from a dynamic creative environment where they are trained to meet industry demands. We prepare students, both with the practical skills - in the fields of communication design, advertising, publishing, packaging, and multimedia design - and the formal qualifications they need to launch successful communication and multimedia design careers worldwide.

The Associate Degree in Multimedia Design in similar to the Advanced Diploma of in that it focuses on the traditional areas of multimedia communication. However it does do from a different perspective. The main difference between this course and the Advanced Diploma is that you'll be approaching your studies in a broader, more analytical context.

In the first year you'll be studying such things as design culture and theory, multimedia technologies, language and systems, internet design and 2D and 3D design. In the second year you'll be studying such areas as design research, digital video composition and storytelling, title and credit design, 3D design, advanced internet design , advanced animation and game interface design.

What is multimedia design?
Multimedia Design is a dynamic range of time-based visual communication. It includes everything on the web, anything interactive (e.g. touch screens), CD ROMs, DVDs, digital interfaces, digital animation, video games, Flash technology, mobile phones and a whole lot more. Basically, if it's graphic and it moves, it qualifies as multimedia.

Billy Blue's Multimedia Design program develops skills in communication design for digital media including audio and video specialisation. 3D modelling, typography, programming/scripting for the web, animation, film and television post production and computer interactive mediums.

Highlights: Students can continue their studies with a Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design) at Billy Blue. The degree is awarded by Swinburne University of Technology.
