Australia
Dates: 2007: 13 February & 17 July
Description:
At William Blue School of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management your career starts on day one! Tourism & Hospitality is the world's largest industry and there are exciting international careers available to well-qualified and skilled graduates. Each year we train over 250 Australian and international students for success in careers in the Hospitality and service sectors - hotels, convention centres, resorts, clubs, property development companies and financial consultancies, to name but a few. Our graduates are highly regarded by employers for their level of skills and their ability to "hit the ground running" in a demanding industry. A key factor in this high-level preparation of students for the "real world" of the Hospitality industry is the full integration of paid Work and Industry Placement into the curriculum. William Blue provides a flexible entry and exit study pathway - you can enter at the level appropriate to your academic background and experience, and exit once you have attained your desired qualification. The first year of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management provides strong food and beverage foundational skills and knowledge. It also provides you with intermediate level practical skills and an introduction to first level management operations. The second year builds on this and prepares you for progression to the Bachelor degree. You will take all your hospitality management subjects to a higher level and do a full semester of paid industry training - a minimum of 800 hours. This allows you to put everything you've learnt into practice... and get paid for it. If you decide to graduate after successfully completing the Advanced Diploma, you'll be ready to work in a supervisory role. Year 2 also includes: Hospitality Management Diploma awarded by the Educational Institute of the American Hotels & Lodging Association (AHLA). William Blue is the only school in Australia that delivers this diploma that is recognised around the world.
