Description:
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is ranked the 15th university of technology in the world according to the Times Higher Education QS World University Rankings for Technology. The Faculty of Applied Sciences is a research-oriented faculty at the frontier of contemporary engineering science - a world-class training ground for future leaders in scientific professional practice and research. It is the largest of TU Delft's eight faculties.
Highlights:
MSc degree program in Applied Physics (including Nanoscience), Chemical Engineering, Industrial Ecology, Life Science and Technology (including Biochemical Engineering), Science Communication and Sustainable Energy Technology. We participate in the ErasmusMundus Optics in Science and Technology. These MSc programmes are for 2 years and fully conducted in English. Roughly speaking, the first year comprises lectures and practicals; the second year is primarily devoted to thesis work. The researchers of the Faculty are active in nano-science and nano-chemical engineering, nano-biology, bio-technology, chemical engineering and transport phenomena, optics and imaging as well as radiation (including a small research nuclear reactor). Much of the research being carried out at the Faculty is interdisciplinary because many of the important developments in science are found at the interface of disciplines. We believe that this is a logical and evolving trend in the world of science and innovation. We know that advanced understanding of complicated theories cannot be achieved only by passive learning. Our instructional method is based on the principles of research-oriented education and learning by doing so that you can gain hands-on experience. Research-oriented education means that students are in contact with the researchers and their environment.
