Description: Academic Semester Program

The Academic Semester Program at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria offers students the unique experience of integrating completely into Spanish university life. Students study Spanish language, as well as courses in other areas. There are many courses offerings in English in the area of Business and Economics. The university's commitment to academic excellence, small class sizes, and attention to each individual foster student success and growth.

Excursions, activities, visiting speakers, visits to places of interest in and around the capital of Madrid, soccer tournaments, and more form part of the experience of international students at the UFV.

Students will combine a 4-week intensive Spanish Language and Culture Course with 12 to 15 weeks university study depending on the semester of study, during which time students will study between 3 and 5 courses from the following:

1. Spanish course
2. Humanities/General Education course
3. Courses related to the students major. We offer courses in the following areas:

Hispanic Studies/Liberal Arts
Business and Economics
Art, Architecture, and Design
Communication, Journalism, and Public Relations
Health Sciences
Education

4.1 Internship assignment, service learning assignment or a 3rd course related to the students major

Internship and service learning assignments are perfect for enhancing student resume's and providing students with the opportunity to integrate further into Spanish society. Both the internship and service learning assignments include a tutor system, research project and academic credit. Students must have a minimum intermediate level of Spanish.

An in person interview is required for obtaining an internship placement and will take place at the end of 1 month Programa de Inmersion Linguistica y Cultural. Programa de Inmersion Linguistica y Cultural

Contact hours: 80 hours

This program runs in June, July, September and January. The program is broken down in the following way:

50 hours: Spanish language and communication
30 hours: Spanish culture and civilisation focusing on:
- Los Siglos de Oro
- La España Actual
- Interculturalidad y multiculturalidad en España
- España Contemporánea recorridos por movimientos artísticos
- Literatura
- Panorama de España y Europa
- 12 hour photography workshop

Aula Internacional also works directly with universities to design innovative programs meeting group specific needs. Based in the heart of the UFV campus, Aula Internacional offers international university students the unique experience to reach a competent level of Spanish and continue with their university studies whilst integrating into University and daily life and having the experience of a lifetime.

- 4 week intensive Spanish Language and Culture course including 6 site visits to The Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, Royal Palace, Senate, "Madrid de los Austrias" and Templo de Debod
- Full day excursions to 4 of the following places: Toledo, Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, Segovia, Avila, El Escorial. Transport and entry fees included
- 5 months host family accommodation,half board,individual room
- Full use of all university facilities
