Highlights:
The University of the Sunshine Coast is the ideal institution for students seeking to study in a non-urban environment at a university situated in one of the most magnificent regions of Australia. The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) is located approximately 100 km (about 66 miles) north of Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland. The campus borders the Mooloolah National Park and is approximately 8-10 km (about 5-6 mi.) from a variety of pristeen beaches. The campus is also home to at least two "mobs" (families)of Eastern Gray kangaroos who students often find lounging leisurely on the lawns in the cooler hours of the day. The University has a student population of about 5,400 students and comprises three faculties: Science, Health and Education; Arts and Social Sciences; and Business. Tuition and fees are among the lowest in Australia while the academic integrity of the University is of the highest quality. The University recently received high marks in its February 2007 review by the Australian Universities Quality Audit. Superior affordable student housing is available adjacent to campus and is easily arranged through USC's accommodations office; however, some students may opt for homestays or independent living off campus. In any event, direction and support will be offered when it comes time to make housing arrangements. The University of the Sunshine Coast is noted for its outstanding student support services. This is due in part to the fact that it is a non-urban campus and enrolls some 5300 students as opposed to the 10,000 - 20,000+ students enrolled at the larger urban institutions. A wide variety of activities and excursions designed with international students in mind are offered throughout the year. Student assistance is but a few steps away in USC's modern ICT building that houses the International Relations Department and all related activities and services. Full course outlines are available upon request.
