Israel
Description:
Tel Aviv University's School for Overseas Students offers the following graduate opportunities: M.A. in Middle Eastern History The M.A. in Middle Eastern History program aims to give students a detailed, intellectual and objective understanding of the political and social history of the Middle East. The two-year program requires students to learn both Hebrew and Arabic, participate in thought-provoking seminars, complete a wide range of courses, and submit a thesis. Conducted in English, the program is offered through Tel Aviv University's prestigious Department of Middle Eastern and African History. M.A. in TESOL The desirability of a graduate degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is a direct result of the high status and prestige that English enjoys in the international community. The English Language is being taught today in a wide variety of contexts and at all levels of education to a variety of students - children and adults in non English speaking countries and as a second language in English speaking countries. There is currently an increase in the need for well trained TESOL teachers and therefore there are various programs for TESOL teachers world wide. The TESOL teacher training programs that exist in Israel have received major recognition in terms of their quality and research. Israel (where 35% of its teachers are native speakers) is known for its innovative programs, creative curricula and advanced technological materials (computer programs and instructional materials) which are exported all over the world. In addition, TAU faculties are known for their scientific research in the field of TESOL, publications in major international journals and presentations at conferences. M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Mediation This one-year Masters aims to offer students around the world the opportunity to study the fundamentals of international conflict resolution at its core. In response to the ever-increasing recognition in the academic world of the importance of conflict resolution, both as a credible research field and a field of practice, we intend to equip our students with the necessary academic and practical tools to assess, manage and resolve conflicts.
