Description: The Honors MBA Program at the School of Management

The Honors MBA program was established to create the best, most comprehensive and effective international MBA program in Israel. It offers a select cadre of students a management education comparable to the best business schools in the world.

The English-language program--modeled on first rate American schools--extends over four 12-week semesters concentrated into 13 months of study. It is designed for outstanding Israeli and foreign students with top management potential. Students are immersed in an extremely demanding schedule that emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to all aspects of global management. The Program requires students to successfully complete 60 credit points. It is implemented in cooperation with senior faculty members at Columbia University Business School, New York.

The Program's graduates leave equipped with the tools to enter and succeed in a rapidly-developing global environment. It requires full time and full commitment from all participating students.

The Honors MBA Program offers a unique study environment to excellent students.

Highlights: Academics

The Program commences each year in October. In line with the best B-Schools, students are expected to complete 60 credit points. The first two semesters focus on the basics of management, such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Quantitative Methods, Human Resources and Marketing. The remaining semesters are dedicated to advanced studies of management theory and practice, including case studies and analysis of real management dilemmas. Throughout the Program, students will visit leading Israeli companies and receive lectures from successful Israeli and international business people.

The modern curriculum is taught by young, dynamic, flexible faculty members supplemented by top international scholars. Several modules are presented by faculty members from Columbia University, Cornell University, The Indian School of Business,   University of Toronto, the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, George Washington University and New York University

A typical curriculum will include the following courses:

First Semester
Microeconomics *, Creating Effective Organizations *, Managerial Statistics, Financial Accounting, Production Management *, Introduction to Finance, Entrepreneurship and Writing a Business Plan (Practicum, Part I).

Second Semester
Macroeconomics *, Political Skills for Organizational Leaders *, Marketing Strategy *, Managing Marketing Programs *, Business Strategy, Investments Theory, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship and Writing a Business Plan, (Practicum, Part II).

Third Semester
Business Law, Business Ethics, Implementing Business Strategy *, Incentives in the Labor Market *, International Business *, Entrepreneurship and Doing Business in India *, Enterprise Management in China *, Advanced Corporate Finance, Applied Project (Practicum, Part I).

Fourth Semester

Advanced Investment Management *, Public Policy in the Interface between the Public and Private Sector, Trading Room, Options and Contingent Claims, Risk Management, Applied Project (Practicum, Part II).

To enhance the learning experience, students participate in a broad spectrum of academic and extramural activities. These include on-site visits to successful Israeli corporations. Past visits included: leading cellular telephone companies, banks, Israel's top tea manufacturer, a global manufacturer of drip irrigation equipment, a stock trading company, management consultancies and others. New visits are constantly being arranged.
Special presentations by successful entrepreneurs are also an integral part of the learning experience. Guest lectures are given by leading business people from Israel and abroad. These have included appearances by Venture Capitalists, internet entrepreneurs, bankers, company presidents, CEO's and CFO's of agrochemical corporations and technological incubators.
