Degree in Wireless and Mobility Telecommunications
Canada
Description:
This program prepares graduates for entry into the lucrative wireless/mobility industry. Students have the opportunity to develop essential skills and knowledge, beginning with electronics fundamentals and leading up to the current state-of-the-art wireless and related telecommunications technologies. In their studies, students explore VLSI components, materials, specifications and standards associated with mobile and fixed communications devices. Students are exposed to wireless backhaul, wireless access systems, wireless platforms for communication systems integration, and the technologies to facilitate mobile multi-player gaming and computing. Graduates are prepared to function well in career opportunities in the wireless, electronics, and telecommunications industries. Graduates of this Ontario College Advanced Diploma program bring an additional level of both technical competence and project management know-how to any position they occupy. With the additional time spent on faculty-supervised research projects, graduates expand their sense of the fiscal and logistical considerations that can turn proof-of-concept technologies into viable commercial products that can be marketed to both private and public organizations and institutions. The knowledge and skills acquired open up opportunities in the design, development, production, sales and support, installation, as well as the service and maintenance sectors of the fixed and mobile wireless industries, along with industries that operate in the general electronics and telecommunications sectors.
