St. John International University (SJIU) is a private, American university offering 4-year Bachelor degree programs and a 2-year Master program with its campus located in the 16th century Della Rovere Castle in Vinovo (Torino), Italy. Bringing together old and new, the castle is an ideal location for the blending of the rich humanistic tradition of Italy and the American liberal arts system of today. A fundamental part of the academic programs at St. John International is the belief that human culture is innately tied to the physical environment. SJIU fosters understanding and awareness of environmental problems in order to prepare graduates to face these issues in their professional endeavors. The Master in Architecture is a professional course of study for students who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Science in Architecture or hold a Bachelor's Degree of any type. SJIU's Master in Architecture Program reflects the institution's mission of directing attention towards environmental problems and aims to create professional architects with specific competencies connected to territorial planning in terms of environmental conservation and the use of eco-sustainable construction techniques. The Master in Architecture has the aim of providing students with: * The innovative methods and techniques necessary for the construction of buildings with a minimal environmental impact * An understanding of interventional recovery techniques in qualitative, environmental and energetic terms of already existing buildings * An enrichment of the analytic and research-related capabilities of students in order to reach an architectural style which fully respects eco-sustainability

No matter where a student is from, the academic experience of St. John International University will be enriched by living in Torino - a city alive with art, culture and commerce. Torino, along with the entire Piedmont region is steeped in Italian tradition whiles its location on the peninsula has allowed for a close relationship with the rest of Europe as well. Following the American tradition, the academic year begins in September and ends in May. All courses are taught in English with the exception of language courses. SJIU's housing office provides students with assistance in housing placement. Standard housing is in full-fully furnished apartments shared with other international students. These accommodations are conveniently located near the city center with access to campus by public transport.
