Description:
The Institute offers a number of different Further, Higher and Postgraduate courses all of which have an internationally relevant curriculum. The development of professional skills and career preparation are key elements to all our courses and we actively develop and support working relationships between the creative industries, the Institute and our students. Our course staff and technicians all enjoy a wealth of practical experience in their subject area. Many remain actively engaged in their own practice and use this to inform their teaching. Industry Liaison Groups, Guest Lecturers and Visiting Tutors from the creative industries also help ensure that our staff and students remain informed of current working practices and new developments within these areas. The Institute is a joint signature to a Memorandum of Academic Co-operation with the University of Creative Arts, Canterbury, Epson, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester. As an accredited institution, students receive degrees of this validating University College.
Highlights:
Study Abroad is for students who want to spend time learning in the UK, but do not necessarily want to spend as much as 2 -3 years studying. Our study abroad courses let you work alongside degree or diploma students for one or more terms in an exciting, world famous creative institute. You can join existing degree students on the following courses: art and design, fashion, costume, photography, fine art, interior design, illustration, animation, film production, model making, acting or graphic design. If you can't find the exact course you want we can design a course tailored to your individual needs, and you can join several groups of students on a range of different courses as well as receiving one-to-one tuition. There are several study options available, 10 week courses, 8 week summer courses and bespoke courses. The best time to join us is the first term of a degree course in September. You can also join in January if you are finishing an existing course. Summer school courses take place in July and August. Courses normally take place from Monday to Friday each week. We have different levels of study abroad programmes available, if you have little previous experience and wish to join a basic level introductory course (art and design),or you may have a degree already and wish to practice your skills in the UK with advanced students. Your abilities and qualifications will be assessed before you are offered a place and we will discuss with you the most suitable programme of learning. All students are asked to submit examples of work with their application, see application page for the application process and form.
