UL offers over 66 four-year primary degree programmes in the Kemmy Business School, the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The academic year runs from September to May and intending international students may apply directly to the International Education Division at UL. Postgraduate Programmes - UL offers programmes in education and research to masters and doctorate level in all Colleges: Business, Education, Engineering, Humanities, Informatics & Electronics and Science. As part of the Universitys overall research strategy, a number of areas have been prioritised for academic excellence and relevance to industry and society. These are: Information and Communication Technologies, Biosciences and Bio (medical) Engineering, Materials and Surface Science Work, Productivity and Quality, Humanities and Social Sciences Financial Aid: The University of Limerick is accredited by the US Department of Education for Federal Loan funding. The International Education Division personnel at UL can assist students that apply for this loan assistance. Ireland has many links with the USA, ethnic, historical and cultural. Ireland provides a gateway to Europe and has a first rate education system, recognised worldwide. Student life in Ireland is highly sociable. Highlights:
A unique feature of academic life at UL is the Cooperative Education Programme (undergraduate work placement), which involves placement of all full-time students in employment relevant to their academic interests for a minimum of seven months, usually during the third year of study. UL has a network of over 1,600 employers/corporations, located in Europe, the USA, Canada, Latin America and Australia, which provide valuable work experience for 2,000 undergraduates annually. This is organised by the University and students may be paid for the period.

Scholarships are Available. Faculty of Science and Engineering Scholarship 2009/10
In an attempt to assist students with the financial aspect of their studies the Faculty of Science and Engineering is delighted to announce that there are 11 scholarships available to International students for the 2009/10 academic year for all undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. A full list of programmes is available on the web.
This scholarship will be offered on a once only basis and is only open to students who will begin an undergraduate programme in the 2009/10 academic year.
Value of Scholarships:
50% reduction of tuition fees for the 2009/10 academic year
25% reduction of tuition fees for the 2010/11 academic year
10% reduction of tuition fees for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 academic years
International Education Division Merit Bursaries
The International Education Division is delighted to offer International Education Merit Bursaries to undergraduate student's at the university, who show academic excellence. Bursaries range from 500 to 2,000 and are awarded automatically to students who perform well.
