In the Department of English Language and Literature, it is aimed to equip students with relevant and contemporary knowledge on significant issues related to both English and American Literatures, so that they can develop critical thinking and communication skills. Through reading, discussing and writing, students are exposed to a broad spectrum of ideas and concepts, and in turn, learn to translate that information into useful conclusions and communicate that knowledge to others.

The students are also tutored and trained in several interdisciplinary subjects which pave the way for them to be further specialized. It has been focused on supplying the students with the universal and current issues and way of teaching so as to assist them to become well-qualified for prospective professions existing in various fields of education.
