Public Relations and Advertising Department (PRAD) is delivering education on design and project basis with courses consistent with creative working philosophy. Students take theoretical introductory courses in the fields of communications, public relations, advertising and information technologies in the first year. Efforts to establish a theoretical background continue in the second year through strengthening and invigorating expertise in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations. Specialization gains speed in the third and fourth years through courses including project-based national and international functions in advertising and public relations fields. In addition to courses on expertise, students gain extra knowledge on much debated issues such as market research, media planning and ethics, message design, brand strategies, consumer behavior which they hear at conferences, international symposiums, panels, interviews and workshops from field specialists. In the sector today proficiency in one single discipline is not enough for a communications expert. Thus, it is necessary for a public relations and advertising expert to master almost all communications fields. With respect to this, students differentiate from similar departments, 2 students through taking inter-departmental courses on script writing, production design, film production, cinematography, journalism and photography and join workshops managed under the supervision of area experts to develop "multi-disciplinary working" skills.
