Description: Irkutsk State Technical University (ISTU) offers training in the wide range of specialties (about 90 ones) in technical and economic fields, humanities and arts on the level of Bachelor (4 years), Specialist (5 years), Master (2 years) and PhD (3 years).

For those foreigners who do not know Russian language but want to become degree-seeking students at ISTU, pre-university course is offered which takes the minimum period of one academic year and combines the learning of Russian language with studying of basic high school subjects. After successful completion of the program and passing final examinations, the students are awarded with state Certificates giving the right to enter any higher educational institution in the Russian Federation.

Furthermore, annually the University holds a number of summer schools for international students; the most popular are summer school of Russian language and Siberian regional studies "Exploring Siberia" and engineering summer school "Computer technologies in mechanical engineering".
