International Music College
Germany
Term: Academic Year
Dates: application due by August 15 and the semester begins on September 1
Description:
We offer a three year program for those interested in becoming a professional pop, jazz, or rock musician. The program takes 36 months (three years). During the first two years students receive instruction on their main instrument (guitar, bass, drums, voice, trumpet, saxophone...etc), learn how to play in a band with other musicians and are offered wide array of other interesting courses such as Arrangement, Songwriting, Composition, Music Business, Transposition, Stage Presence and History of Music in Films just to list a few examples. In their third year students must choose between Performance, Music Education, or Songwriting/Producing as a focal point of their studies. Assuming students pass their exams and auditions, upon completion they will be state recognized musicians.
Highlights:
The study year in the Basic Program ends with the audition for the Main Program. If this is passed, the student qualifies for the Main Program. If it is not passed, the Basic Program can be repeated for another year. In this case, the course load is somewhat varied and reduced, with the study fees being correspondingly lower. Another possibility, also in this case, would be to prepare further for the Main Program as a part-time student.
