Study at University of the Nations
United States
Term: Throughout the year
Description:
The University is a degree-granting institution offering Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees within in its seven colleges. Those students wishing to pursue a degree will be assigned an academic advisor to guide them in their course of studies. We encourage students to intersperse their studies with practical field experience, and for this reason there is no time limit imposed for completing a U of N degree. The University of the Nations, Kona, Hawaii campus is a degree-granting institution (Associate, Bachelor and Master) but is not accredited by any accrediting agency or association recognized by the United States Commissioner of Education. Various accredited institutions throughout the world accept U of N transfer students and credits. Degree Requirements: * DTS -- All degree programs require the successful completion of a Discipleship Training School (YWAM-DTS) and outreach. * Overseas study -- Candidates for Bachelor's or Master's degrees are required to complete at least two courses on other continents in an environment which requires a cross-cultural experience. * Core courses -- Degree students must also complete the core curriculum in Biblical studies, communication and humanities/science. * Residency requirement -- Candidates for Bachelor's or Master's degrees must complete at least four courses in Kona or any other location offering multiple U of N courses. This provides adequate relational and academic continuity for the student. * Outreach credits -- An approved degree program must include at least two field assignments/internships. This incorporates the "learning and then doing" precept of the U of N's Founding Principles. * Total credits -- The number of credits required for Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees is listed in the current U of N catalog. * Other requirements -- Additional requirements for each degree track are listed in the current U of N catalog.

University of the Nations's Mission Statement: In response to Jesus' command to go into the world and make disciples (Matt.22:37-38;28:18-20) and the need for biblical transformation of peoples and nations, the U of N Kona is called to train servant leaders in the seven spheres of society (religion, family, education, government, media,arts/entertainment and business/science).
We are committed to teaching, works of evangelism and mercy ministries. We want to see this campus become a hub for both new and existing ministries, and to see our facilities filled with people passionate for reaching the lost and the needy, both here in Hawaii and into the nations of the world.
