An advisory board of internationally renowned architects and teaching staff are tied to the school, and responsible for quality control, evaluation and development.
Highlights:
This programme will be a part of the new laboratory for sustainable architecture production,. Architecture should be regarded as a form of intervention in the environment, and architects have the ability to affect people's physical surroundings. Architecture is an aesthetic practice producing physical objects and structures to enable and improve everyday life. For that reason architects have an aesthetic and social responsibility to participate in the development of a sustainable future. Sustainable construction needs to be integrated with strong aesthetic awareness in order to further development. Our goal is to educate designers with a serious commitment to aesthetics, ethics, politics, society and sustainability. Being an architect ought to be about striving for a better world, and the School of Architecture wants to commit to this through research and development of new strategies, materials and products. At the same time, architecture is a subject where scientific invention always intertwines with artistic innovation, synthesis and communication. In studying architecture, you need access to a wide range of knowledge in technical matters, humanities, and social and economic planning, to complement artistic development. Our point of view is that architecture should be produced through artistic, social, technological and sustainable competences, and that it should be based on profound academic knowledge. Finding a basis in the convention and history of European architecture, we formulate a platform of rethinking, with a critical approach towards the understanding of modern architecture. Working with project based learning, the Laboratory of Architecture will be a place of experiment and contribution to professional inventions and innovations.
