There are many liberal arts universities in the United States that have excellent academic programs and world class professors dedicated to student learning so as to prepare you for graduate programs or demanding careers. What makes John Cabot University's educational experience unique? * JCU is in the historic center of Rome a city that belongs to the world. Rome is steeped in passion, history, politics, and art in an exciting cosmopolitan setting. Imagine what it would be like to live in a city with 3000 years of history. With Rome as your campus you will walk on your own or with our professors in the footsteps of emperors, popes, statesmen, gladiators and slaves, and at the same time observe on a daily basis the economic and political growing pains of modern Europe. Rome is home to diplomatic embassies, United Nations organizations and the Vatican, all in the midst of ever-present reminders of the past: from ancient Roman ruins to the uplifting art of the Renaissance, to simple inscriptions on houses commemorating the death of a loved one during the Second World War. It is an environment that will invite you to reflect and grow both intellectually and personally. * JCU is liberal arts. "Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth." - Albert Einstein Today's internet age gives us nearly unlimited access to information. As global citizens, we face the challenge of not simply knowing but understanding this information. We must learn how to critically assess the sources of information, understand its meaning, and use it wisely. This is one of the hallmarks of a liberal arts education and this is JCU. * JCU has a unique student body and world class international faculty. In addition to having students from over 40 countries, JCU hosts visiting students from nearly every state across the United States. Our faculty, holding advanced degrees from major universities throughout the world, brings an international dimension to the classroom. Daily contact with such a diverse group of dynamic people provides you with a tremendous opportunity to learn how to live, interact, and work in a multicultural setting a characteristic that has become highly valued in today's world. John Cabot University's student body and faculty will challenge you to question and examine yourself and, in doing so, discover the richness and complexity of human existence. It will change you. Overall, our students describe themselves as "explorers, intellectuals, involved, risk-takers, passionate, and cosmopolitan." We are proud of our students as they enrich us and make our University distinct. JCU provides a lasting foundation for young men and women to enter graduate programs and prestigious firms and be able to navigate their lives with academic maturity, tolerance, and a little Italian pizzazz.
