The Certificate in Business Administration is a pre-degree preparatory program that aims to equip students for entry into their desired degree program. The course provides students with an appreciation of the theoretical issues currently involved in the study of business and a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers. Teaching & Assessment Methods
A range of teaching and learning strategies are employed to suit the various types of learner. Typically lectures are supported by smaller group tutorials and seminars, case workshops, project and group based activities, and practical demonstrations, which can be led by staff or students. Students are also given independent learning activities. Where appropriate, student learning is supported by materials, tasks and activities provided via a virtual learning environment. A range of assessment methods are used throughout the Certificate programme to assess specific learning objectives. Students at each level have to complete a variety of context-specific coursework through a combination of examinations, practical demonstrations and industrial attachments. Admission Criteria
- Minimum age of 16 years and above
- Minimum 9 years of formal education (high school) OR
- Minimum 3 credits for Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level
- Minimum English Language requirement of TOEFL 450 or IELTS 5 or 60% in Shelton's English Language Placement Test OR
- Any other qualifications subject to the approval of Shelton's Academic Board Modules
