Programme Aims:
The Double Certificate in Business Administration and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality is a preparatory program that aims to equip students for entry into their desired degree program. The course provides students with an appreciation of the theoretical issues currently involved in the study of business stream with the relative interest in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry and a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers. On completion of the certificate program students can proceed to pursue their Double Diploma in Business Administration and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality or select to do single award of BA/TTH. Teaching & Assessment Methods
A range of teaching and learning strategies are employed to suit the various types of learner. Typically lectures are supported by smaller group tutorials and seminars, case workshops, project and group based activities, and practical demonstrations, which can be led by staff or students. Students are also given independent learning activities. Where appropriate, student learning is supported by materials, tasks and activities provided via a virtual learning environment. A range of assessment methods are used throughout the Double Certificate programme to assess specific learning objectives. Students at each level have to complete a variety of context-specific coursework through a combination of examinations, practical demonstrations and industrial attachments. Admission Criteria
- Min age of 16 years
- Min 9 years of formal education (middle school) or Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level with minimum 3 credits
- Min English language requirement of TOEFL 450 or IELTS 5 or score 60% in Shelton's English Language Placement Test
- Any other qualifications subject to Shelton's Academic Board's approval. Modules Offered
