The Diploma course offers a balanced academic and practical approach to fundamental business concepts and applications. It covers the essential subject areas including management, marketing, finance, and human resource management. The lectures on international case studies, group discussions and activities used throughout the course provide opportunities for students to apply their learning, to develop and enhance their business knowledge and competencies. Teaching & Assessment Methods
A range of teaching and learning strategies are employed to suit the various types of learner. Typically lectures are supported by smaller group tutorials and seminars, case workshops, project and group based activities, and practical demonstrations, which can be led by staff or students. Students are also given independent learning activities. Where appropriate, student learning is supported by materials, tasks and activities provided via a virtual learning environment. A range of assessment methods are used throughout the Diploma programme to assess specific learning objectives. Students at each level have to complete a variety of context-specific coursework through a combination of examinations, practical demonstrations and industrial attachments. Admission Criteria
- Shelton Certificate in Business Administration OR
- Shelton Double Certificate in Business Admistration and Travel, Tourism & Hospitality OR
- Minimum 12 years of formal education (high school)
- Minimum English Language requirement of TOEFL 500 or IELTS 5.5 or 70% in Sheltons English Language Placement Test
- Any other qualifications subject to the approval of Sheltons Academic Board Modules
